This Fundraising evening of belly dance and will feature our regional teachers - and any from further afield who would like to join in the fun and perform for a really enthusiastic audience.
The dance floor will be open to all during the intermission and after the performances. Many thanks to all of you who have performed in the past...it couldn't happen without you!!!
The charity recipient for this party is the OXFAM ‘unwrapped’ project. The money raised by you will be used to purchase donkeys, goats, and chickens to be distributed to the poorest people in the most impoverished regions of the world. It’s not every dancer that can say she danced for donkeys, goats and chickens!
A local designer, Michelle Roy, volunteers her time and decorates the stage area wonderfully using a rich melange of middle eastern and eclectic props; Tom Leroux (Darner Media) films and edits the beautiful DVDs for us (at a very discounted price!); and a professional DJ (D’Urbano Musical Enterprises) assures there will be very few musical glitches. Several caterers have provided us with terrific snacks at the end of the show. We have also started to produce a line of belly dancer collectors’ mugs featuring the artwork of Ahmed Enan that will be offered for sale ($15)at the party.
Please contace Catharine as soon as possible if you would like to perform....3 to 5 minutes per performance please!
